The foothills of Carlsbad become
a kaleidoscope of vibrant color each year in the spring in a spectacular
display of natural wonder as the Flower Fields reach their peak
ranunculus blooming season in March and April.
Many of Carlsbad's natural features
can be seen from the seawall that runs from Tamarack Surf Beach
to Pine Avenue, along the bluffs near the Village with a stretch
of beach at the foot of the wall and a walkway on the inland side
that is popular with joggers and strollers. From this location the
view can be spectacular. You can see La Jolla to the south and Oceanside's
sweeping bluffs and the mountains at Camp Pendleton to the north
past the pier on a clear day.
